Hyderabad was hit by intense rainfall Sunday evening, leading to widespread waterlogging, flooded roads, and serious traffic disruptions. In some areas, two persons are feared to have been washed away.

Prior to the heavy rain, scattered rainfall in parts of Hyderabad (e.g. Saidabad, Edi Bazar, Musheerabad, Bandlaguda) caused traffic snarls and some bridge closures (e.g. Musarambagh bridge) due to the Musi river overflowing

Despite spending ₹727.18 crore under the National Clean Air Programme (NCAP), Hyderabad still struggles with high PM10 levels. Current averages are much above WHO safe limits. Implementation challenges and lack of coordinated enforcement are being pointed to as reasons for the slow progress.
