To ease the burden on patients who often have to travel to Hyderabad, the Telangana government is establishing cancer daycare centres in government medical colleges around the state.

These centres will offer chemotherapy, screening, palliative care. Initially, patients will start treatment in Hyderabad (e.g. MNJ Cancer Hospital, NIMS) and then can continue treatment nearer home. Staff have been trained; hiring is planned; oversight will be from HYderabad institutions.
